Workflow Automation & AI Agents

Design and test one limited workflow that connects approved tools and keeps important actions under human control.

Is this course right for you?

Who it’s for
Technical learners, developers, and team members with suitable workflow and integration experience.
Before you join
C02-level AI literacy, spreadsheet/data basics, JSON familiarity, API concepts, and basic programming or proven equivalent low-code experience. A learner who lacks these should not be enrolled directly.
Device and access
Computer required; a preconfigured, permitted practice environment and model/tool access must be available.

60 hours of total planned effort. 36 guided hours across 18 two-hour sessions, plus an estimated 24 hours of your own practice. 6 weeks assumes three sessions per week, excluding breaks and schedule gaps. Actual cohort dates are not announced.

What you will learn

6 modules · 36 guided hours
Workflow design and scope4 hours

Inputs, outputs, triggers, states, responsibilities, and deciding when an agent is unnecessary. Map a small workflow.

Data, tools, and API connections6 hours

JSON, schemas, authentication concepts, test endpoints, credential handling, and minimum permissions.

Deterministic automation6 hours

Create a repeatable non-AI flow, validate inputs, handle missing records, and inspect outputs.

AI-assisted steps and retrieval6 hours

Add one model-assisted step or approved knowledge source; explain uncertainty, references, and limits.

Control and failure handling6 hours

Human approvals, time/step limits, retries, cost checks, logs, untrusted content, and safe stopping behavior.

Final workflow and review8 hours

Build a small workflow with sample data, test failure cases, and demonstrate an approval checkpoint before any consequential action.

Total guided learning36 hours

Your own practice

Data/API exercises (6), workflow building (8), failure tests (6), documentation and review (4).

24 estimated hours, in addition to guided sessions.

PUT YOUR LEARNING INTO PRACTICE

Your final work

A fictional enquiry-to-draft or document-to-summary workflow, with limited permissions and a review step. A draft need not be sent to a real recipient.

How to show your understanding

  • The workflow is reproducible, access is bounded, errors are visible, costs are considered, and the learner explains why each tool is needed.

What this course does not promise

Not production AI engineering, secure enterprise architecture, autonomous business operation, model training, or an unlimited-usage service. Instructor skill and sandbox safety are prerequisites to offering this course.
